Abstract Instructions & Deadlines

Important Deadlines:

  • February 5, 2023: Abstract submission deadline
  • February 21, 2023: Abstract acceptance/rejection notification sent out by this date
  • March 12, 2023: 10 minute video presentation submission deadline
Awards will be given for the Best Resident/Fellow Abstract and Best Student Abstract!

The winning authors will receive free registration for TCEP CONNECT 2023 in Austin on
April 16-18th, where they will be able to showcase their presentations and receive their awards on Monday, April 17th.  

 

Instructions for participation:

  1. Abstracts must be received by 11:59 p.m. Central Time on February 5, 2023.
  2. Abstracts must include the following subsections, consistent in style with those appearing in Annals of Emergency Medicine: title, introduction, purpose, methods (include design, setting, and type of participants), results, and conclusion.
  3. Abstracts are limited to 3000 characters.
  4. Abstracts must be in English.
  5. If an abstract is accepted, you must prepare a 10 minute video presentation and submit by 3/12/2023 for your research to be considered presented.

Videos will be uploaded to the TCEP website for general viewing and also will be used for judging.

The top scoring student and resident/fellow video presentations, will be announced by 3/26/2023. The winning authors will receive free registration for TCEP CONNECT 2023 in Austin on April 16-18th, where they will be able to showcase their presentations on Monday, April 17th.  

Directions on how to submit an abstract:

2. Email your abstract by February 5, 2023 to [email protected] (subject: Research Forum Abstract) or upload directly on the submission form link in step 1

3. Acceptance/rejection notifications will be sent by February 21, 2023

4. If your abstract is accepted, you will receive instructions for submitting your video presentation at that time

Commonly asked questions:

Q: Can faculty submit posters without residents and students?
A: Yes, absolutely! However, awards are only given to best student and resident/fellow abstracts. 

Q: Does it need to be original clinical research, or are literature reviews also an accepted submission?
A: Original research.

Q: Can I submit an abstract that has already been presented at other academic conferences?
A: This is allowed, if the conference the research was presented at was a local conference. If it was already presented regionally or nationally, then no, it may not be re-submitted.
